Understanding Climate Change

The impact of aviation on climate is one of the top priorities for our common future. For years FABEC has worked to understand climate change better. This includes assessing aviation’s impact on climate change aviation, FABEC’s role as part of the aviation chain, and operational procedures to reduce aircraft emissions and to cope with severe weather phenomena. We have discovered that a lot of the knowledge needed is not available. Hence, we have fostered activities to bring together experts from different domains including operations, climatology and meteorology. And we learned very quickly that despite the fact that climate change is a global issue, its impact is found at local and regional level.

For this reason, local cooperation within FABEC and InterFAB provides the best platform to learn, to exchange best practices, and to build up common knowledge – to reach the goal of reducing the impact of aviation on climate change.
